Christopher Moody

Very little is known about Christopher Moody. He might have once been a member of Bartholomew Roberts' crew. He pirated off the coast of North and South Carolina sometime between 1713 and 1718. To show deadly intent, blood-red pennants were often flown from the ship's mainmast. It meant no quarter (no sparing of lives). Moody's red flag with an hourglass with wings was to express to his victims that their time was flying away. He was hanged at Cape Coast Castle in Cabo Corso, Ghana.
